Sustainability
from start to finish
When we develop our products, we are always thinking about their environmental compatibility too. Because we use local materials sourced close to the manufacturing sites and cutting-edge flue gas treatment systems in production, our carbon emissions are low. Throughout our factories we ensure that we reuse whatever we can, be it water, heat or raw materials. With a recycling rate of 96%, the Steuler Tile Group’s mass balance is therefore below the benchmark of 85% - but we are constantly striving to improve it still further.

and harmless
Ceramic is a natural product that is free from any harmful substances. Due to their extremely high resilience, ceramic systems are an exceptionally enduring solution, they hardly show any signs of wear, permanently retain their shape and colour, they are resistant to heat and water, UV-resistant and require no chemical cleaning with synthetic or even toxic materials. And if ceramic solutions ever do happen to be replaced, they are fully recyclable.
